Montreal Comic Con, a must see in Quebec

There is plenty of special attraction to visit in the wonderful province of Quebec. Some of them are season specific and others are available all seasons. As a Geek, there is one event, one attraction that I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of pop culture content and who would like to see Montreal in cosplay.

My happiest memory

To be honest, the most predominant fandom in my life is probably Harry Potter. I have Christmas ornaments, graphic tees, figurines, posters, collectibles, and the books in several editions. I even have two Harry Potter related tattoos. One of them is the words Expecto Patronum in J.K. Rowling’s handwriting. I think what is most special about it is the fact that I got it done in Edinburgh, not long after I visited the Harry Potter Studios near London. To cast an Expecto Patronum, you need to draw energy from your happiest memory. I think mine is visiting is the studios. Even as I am writing this, I feel the giddiness I felt that day.

Using pop culture as a tourism destination

As we travel to destination that are represented in Tv shows and movies we love, it is important that we stay conscious of the mark we leave on those places. You might dream to visit the city of Dubrovnik because you are fan of Game of Thrones. You will see that this is no longer a recommended destination because of the heavy traffic of tourists. Believe it or not, these tourists are just like you: Game of Thrones’ fans. The traffic is so destructive that UNESCO even considered removing the city status. We should always threat the destination of our trip with respect no matter who excited we are to visit them.
